MilReady (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the MilReady mobile application and related services.

By using MilReady, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: Name, email address, military branch, rank, and duty station when you create an account.
• Profile Data: Service dates, career events, PT scores, awards, and other military career information you choose to enter.
• Documents: Military documents you upload to the secure document vault, including PCS orders, LES statements, and DD-214 forms.
• Financial Information: Pay grade, allowances, TSP contributions, and GI Bill usage data you enter for calculator features.
• Family Information: Names and basic information of family members you add for PCS planning purposes.

Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
• Usage Data: Features used, time spent in the app, crash reports, and performance data.
• Location Data: ZIP code (when you use the BAH calculator). We do not track your precise GPS location.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the MilReady app and its features.
• Calculate military pay, BAH, DITY move estimates, and VA disability ratings.
• Process and extract data from uploaded documents using AI-powered scanning (Premium feature).
• Send push notifications for PCS deadlines, PT test reminders, and VA appointment alerts (with your permission).
• Generate your Daily Briefing summary.
• Track your achievements, streaks, and badges within the gamification system.
• Respond to your support requests and communications.
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is encrypted both in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256 encryption). Documents stored in the secure vault are encrypted with keys unique to your account. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

Storage limits: Free accounts receive 100MB of document storage. Premium accounts receive 1GB. All data is stored on secure, U.S.-based cloud infrastructure.

4. AI Document Scanning

When you use the AI-powered document scanning feature (Premium), your documents are processed to extract relevant data such as reporting dates, duty stations, and financial information. This processing occurs on secure servers, and the extracted data is stored in your account. We do not use your documents to train AI models or share them with third parties.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Service Providers: With trusted third-party services that help us operate the app (cloud hosting, analytics, crash reporting), bound by strict data protection agreements.
• Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
• Safety: To protect the rights, safety, or property of MilReady, our users, or the public.
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.

6. Your Rights & Choices

• Access & Export: You can view and export all your data at any time from the app settings.
• Correction: You can update or correct your personal information at any time.
• Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting support@milready.app or through the app settings. Deletion is processed within 30 days.
• Notifications: You can manage push notification preferences in the app settings.
• Opt-Out: You can opt out of analytics data collection in the app settings.

7. Children's Privacy

MilReady is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 17, we will promptly delete it.

8. Third-Party Links

The app may contain links to external resources such as VA.gov, military OneSource, and veteran discount providers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

9. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of MilReady after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
